The Wilmington Christian Golf League started in 2013 with a group of golfers who all happened to be in the same small group. In time a unique handicap system was invented to allow less talented players to compete with our more skilled friends. The system is very complicated, in fact many of our long time players still can't grasp the genius that went into creating it. Basically it is set up where you compete against your average score (taking into account course rating and slope) and then compete against other players who are competing against their average score. The person who best out performs their personal history is crowned the winner. If you want to see additional details head over to https://www.wcgl.golf/point-system where I try and lay out the system. :)

The league is currently made up of men who attend local area churches and enjoy golf. Once a month, from February to November, players are invited to attend a "tournament" held on a course in the tri-county area.
